p.s.

Note to self (or to those reading who want to get me an early birthday present *wink*)

I want a good thesaurus.  I need to buy one.  Actually, I should really buy myself a good dictionary too.  I love words.  I think I would just sit down and read that.
Strange?  Probably.
Nerdy?  Totally.
My idea of an amazing night in?  Absolutely.  Leave me alone. :P

The internet thesauruses and dictionaries aren't cutting it for you? merriam-webster.com provides pretty decent ones for free -- dictionary wise, just as good as a bound version (unless it's unabridged).

oh! i had forgotten about that one. good call.
that will get me through until i can afford a bound version. i really just like the aesthetic of a bound copy. but you're right. this is way better than the online one i had been using.
thanks, noof!

I like http://www.tfd.com. I think you can double click on any word on that site and it will go to the word's definition. At least that's how I remember it working before I installed some stupid plugin that stole that bit of functionality. By the way, they make these nifty books that you might also enjoy that are known as vocabulary builders. Check them out. I've got about five of them somewhere buried in that junk room in the basement. :)
